Dear Parents
PE FESTIVALS
As part of our association with the School Sports Partnership, I am pleased to inform you that we have been invited to take part in a variety of PE festivals.
The first of these is an ‘Invasion Games Festival’ for all children in Years 3 and 4, to take place at
Swanmead
Community
School on Wednesday 13 February 2008, from 9.30am to 11.00am. The children will be transported by coach to and from the venue, with the necessary staff to adequately supervise them. This is an outdoor festival, so the children will need to wear jogging bottoms, sweatshirt and trainers. In the event of rain,
Greenfylde
School will not take part in the festival to enable St. Mary and
St. Peters, and
Shepton
Beauchamp
First
Schools to use the gym as an alternative venue. Please can you ensure that your child brings their named water bottles. As the coach will need to collect the children immediately following registration, it would be helpful if the children could arrive at school wearing their PE kit.
Following the success of last year’s Fun Run for Years 3 and 4, another one has been arranged to take place at
Wadham
Community
School on Wednesday 26 March 2008 to start at 4.00pm. This event is open to children in all year groups. The course has been extended this year, to make it more challenging to the children in Years 3 and 4. The course will be shorter for Years R, 1 and 2. As it is an after school event, it will be the responsibility of parents to transport children to and from the event and to supervise them during the event. Parents are welcome to participate in the Fun Run and run with their children. A further letter will follow with all the relevant details and an authorisation slip for the children to take part.
In addition, a ‘Dance Festival’ is in the process of being arranged, in conjunction with Rebecca Berrisford. This will take place at
Wadham
Community
School, hopefully during the summer term, and again further details will follow when we have them.
