Dear Parents,
I am writing this letter to all parents although different parts of this letter will only affect one base. However, I felt that it is important that this letter goes out to the whole school.
Teaching Staff
Firstly I apologise to year three and four and their parents on the Barrington Base for the changes in staff over the last few weeks. Alison Tulloch had a number of important meetings and courses that arose during the first two weeks of term. I know she felt that she was out of the class a lot but there was no alternative. The courses were all based on improving the school and linked well into our areas of improvement. However, as some of you may be aware Alison has now had to go to
Ilton Base
Avril Vickery, class teacher from the Ilton base will be leaving the school at the end of this half term. Her last day will be Wednesday 13th February. Sandra Anderson who has taken the class on Thursday and Fridays since September will be taking the class full time from Monday 25th February. This is a temporary position but to ensure continuity for the children her contract will run to the end of the school year. The post will be advertised as a permanent position from September.

We had a very good response for the school meals and would like to encourage a few more families to take up this offer. You can pick and choose days to have cooked meals as long as we know in advance. If as a family you are eligible for free school meals then talk or write to Sue Cunningham. All information will be treated as confidential.
6th March World Book Day. Children are invited to come to school dressed as a character from a book.
There are also some PE festivals coming up and Allison Kelly will be sending information home if they are relevant to your child.
Finally, just a reminder that head lice are on the march again and we have had a few children who have had to be treated. Please be vigilant.
Yours sincerely
Headteacher
