I was a pupil from 1952 until 1958. I owe a great debt to the school for helping me through the eleven plus exam. It was an outstanding achievement by the staff to get four pupils from a sngle year to the Grammar School in Ilminster. It is good to hear that the school still has a great reputation.

Thank you all very much for a wonderful send off on July 25th. I have enjoyed working at the school for twelve years as headteacher and leaving is very sad.

I really enjoyed the songs and dances that the children performed. Well done everyone. You must have been practising for a long time. Thank you very much to everyone who helped with food and drink, organising the events and to all who came.

The flight in the helicopter was brilliant. What a way to go!

Good luck to everyone in the future and I hope to drop in from time to time.

Love to you all, Mrs. Ferguson.

During WW II there was a school at Barrington Court called Streete Court. It was evacuated from Westgate-on-Sea.
I joined the school in 1941 and subsequently moved with it to Bognor Regis at the end of the war, my home was in South Petherton at that time.
I have set up a Website www.streetecourtschool.co.uk which will give you information about my school and a little on the time at Barrington.
contact me if you should require more information.

I was at Barrington School from 1953 until 1958 - first in the "little room" with Miss Woolgrove and later with Edith Hilbourne the Head Mistress. I remember sports days and cricket on the cricket field, egg shackling on Shrove Tuesday and a leavers outing in an H&C mini bus to Lyme Regis. Others who left at the same time as me - Suzanne Bond, Sally Stephens and Peter Crosland who came from Stocklinch.

I visited this website for the first time on 20.3.2003. I left Barrington in 1989 and it now seems to have changed a great deal. Although I have driven past it a number of times whilst still living in Somerset and it still seems the same from the outside, the number of staff seem to have grown since the time of MR Scowen in the 1980's.
